It sounds like your PC is trying to boot off a network server. Open up the bios and check the boot order. As a repairman, i suggest:

1) CD or DVD
2) Hard Drive
3)whatever else you want.

Hi there... whats happened is that your bios is looking to boot from CARDBUS . . what you need to do is enter bios and change the order of the boot drives to Drive C your hard drive. How old is or dell 1150 it sonds like the Bios battery may be dead hence it doesnt store the bios info in the ram like it should. So what happens It goes for its initial start up bios.

SOS guy is correct i found that too... but if it doesnt work go for changing the bios boot up sequence

Sounds like a failed hard drive to me. The CARDBUS NIC boot failure is probably the computer trying to boot from a network, which is probably the third or fourth boot option in the BIOS.

Sounds like you got hit with either a virus or trojan horse. And, spyware. Try doing a system restore first.
Start
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
System Restore
Go back to before the problem began. Then update all your security programs and do all the scans, one at a time.
If that doesn't work, you'll probably have to do a total recovery on your computer. I hope you know how because having someone like myself do it (I charge $25.00 per hour-most shops begin @ $75.00 per hour just to look at it) will cost you $$$. Here in Minnesota anyway.

I have searched the Dell forums for your answer and one of them is to take the battery out for about 20 min. - put it back in and reboot. No kidding!
