Ireland by Aer Lingus airlines (Ireland's to and from flight service)

Tommy Makem
Sadly, this amazing singer, musician and speaker died August 1, 2007. We're both teetotallers, so Tommy could take me 'round the pubs to listen and make music, and we'd never be drunk. We'd just go from place to place, searching for song and dance. He could tell me stories about how he and The Clancy Brothers helped save so much of traditional Irish music in the Sixties and beyond, along with the help of The Chieftains and The Irish Rovers.

What will we have to eat? I might leave that up to suggestion, but I would like to try colcannon and some soda bread. I have made several Irish dishes, one of which was soda bread. If I was to give in to temptation, I'd have a wee taste of Bailey's Irish Cream. I'd like just a nip to see if it's as delicious as the flavored creamer I put in my coffee.

Also, I would see if they would allow me to play my bowed psaltery. I know hundreds of old melodies~Arthur McBride, Brian Boru's March, Courtin' in the Kitchen, Home, Boys, Home and many more. Maybe I'll learn some more tunes!

Actually, my daughter makes sure I get to do this at least once each year. I believe we're going to try for Edinburgh, Scotland in November. I'd like all the fish and chips I can eat served with a river of vinegar and followed by many cups of steaming hot tea with milk and sugar. Next stop, a bakery, and just before bed, a sweet shop and more tea. My daughter may have other ideas about liquid refreshment, however!

My husband and I would fly to Lisboa, Portugal via Jet Blue! We'd eat somewhere along the beach front! We'd start with their calda verde soup. I'd eat a delicious squid, or octopus dish, served with yellow potatoes, and accompanied with a good red Portuguese wine. My husband would have their popular pork and clam dish. Then we'd go to a bar and listen to a Fado!

Well. Let's see. I would go to Italy, probably Venice. Or maybe Tuscany. With of course, Christian Bale. And we would be eating an authentice Italian dinner. Complete with the best wine money can buy.

I would go to Long Branch BBQ in Austin TX. I would take my husband and eat sausage and homeade potato salad until we passed out from the goodness. I know it's not fancy, but it's homecooked and you can't beat a homecooked meal.

It would not be the where, it would be the whom. I would like to eat in my kitchen with my mom. She has been gone for over 25 years now and it would be great to see her.

This is a good question.
