As much as I want Wang (18-6, 3.69) to win it because of his incredible performances, I think that C.C. Sabathia (17-7, 3.15) of the Indians is going to get it. Beckett (18-6, 3.27) is close, but not quite there.

If Cleveland hold on to win the division, CC Sabathia may sneak into the top spot in a tight vote with Beckett and Wang. He has been the major reason for the club to make this great run in a year most thought the Tigers would run and hide, with Cleveland in second or third.

In my opinion, I would love to see Wang win the AL Cy Young award because I am a Yankees fan. But I'm not sure as of now because of Josh Beckett with a great ERA, making him a perfect candidate for AL Cy Young award. It all depends on Yankees vs Sox game starting at next friday, August 17th through Sunday. I hope Wang wins, they are going to face against each other, we shall see there. Also, good luck to the Red Sox, it will be a great game.

Guys.. Get real. If Wang doesn't win the Cy Young, it won't be because he is on the Yankees. It will be because he didn't deserve it over several other pitchers.
Heres how I'd line the Cy Youngs up:
1. John Lackey
2. Josh Beckett
3. C.C. Sabathia
4. Erik Bedard
5. Jonathan Papelbon (incredible season, don't care if he's a closer.)
6. Chien Ming Wang

C.C. Sabathia (17-7, 3.13 ERA). The guy has the most innings pitched in the American League showing what a workhorse he is. Credit 4 of those 7 losses to the Indians giving him zero run support, he lost 4 games by scores of 3-2, 1-0 and another 1-0, and 2-1. He will finish with his 20 wins. Should be about 24-25. His case will be stated in the limelight of October.

Chien-Ming Wang all the way
He missed 1 month of play and yet is still in first place with 18 wins
If he had played in April, he would've had at least 2, more wins and the ERA might be slightly lower.

Josh Beckett will win the award because he is deserving of it! Not because he is a Red Sox or because they are going to win the World Series. He has pitched his a$$ off this year and deserves every kind of praise that he gets!!

Well I'm also a Yankee fan,But to tell you the truth is going to be hard choosing ,At this time Boston pitcher J.Beckett, has the edge, over our" Wang" but still there's about (20)games left and anything could happen. It's going to be a hell of a battle with:Beckett,Wang,Sabathia,Escobar,Lackey,Santana,Verlander,Wakefield.

I agree with you. Right now Beckett has a more impressive resume but if he falters one game, Wang will get the CY Young.

Bedard.
These stats are good. But considering he plays for Baltimore, a below .500 team, his stats are amazing.
13 wins. 5 losses.
3.16 ERA
1.09 WHIP
221 strikeouts
Even though he won't get it. he deserves some type of trophy. Without him, the O's would be a below .300 team.
