Yes!!!
It takes a pretty petty person to give responders a thumbs down on a straightforward question. It just screams loser.

Yes I do.
Everyone in my house holds different political views ... which is why most of our dinner table conversations usually end with "How about those ?" But - shocker - they're actually civilized and respectful, where the family liberal (my dad) doesn't turn out to be a complete nut case like every other retarded aging hippie.
I disagree with him 99.9% of the time but I can't name once that he's foamed at the mouth and called me "Nazi."
(And I've also had some good conversations with my friends from time to time ... most of whom hold my views. I *DO* live in a red state, after all. Lol.)

Of course. As a writer expressing my views is as natural as breathing. Certainly I wouldn't want to offend people by insulting them, so there's always is a degree of diplomacy involved when writing about disputed subjects. True, I've called the Bush administration the 'Bush Junta' and I've referred to Bush as a 'stooge' for the 'Oil Mafia', but realistically those are more figures of speech than insults. During everyday conversations I try to be a bit more reserved.....it ain't always easy given the subject matter and the boneheaded BS politics and policies of George Bush and his posse of losers and the out and out crimial acts of these goofball morons, but....oops...there I go again! Sorry about that, Chief!

No. Part of it is that people really don't *ask me* anything. I really don't have a lot of friends or social connections in real life either, so...I don't get a lot of chances *to* speak my mind.
But the other part of it is...it isn't really *safe* for people like me to speak my mind any more. To elaborate: my current home town wasn't always like this, ok? As recently as five, ten years ago, things were much better, but...
These days, if you look like you're "poor" (that is, non-preppy) or seem to live in the "wrong building" or ride the mass transit bus instead of drive a car (or heaven help you, walk on the sidewalk), people will get downright bigoted toward you for "being a mope". Seriously, people in my hometown have changed, for the worse. They'll just verbally attack and berate you for no real reason...and I'd hate to think of what would happen if someone stood up for himself. Honestly, the local police and security firms in town are getting medieval and are only *one* step away from getting tasers.
So yeah. I don't look "preppy enough" or "pretty enough" to really have the privilege of speaking my mind. Sorry to say. My hometown has really become that oppressive these days.
If I could afford to move out....*Or sue folks*, I would. -_-
But hey....that's the whole deal isn't it?
Sorry to go on so....thanks for your time.

You bet!
I'm careful at work, as I am a representative of that school, and you don't pay me to indocrenate your kids.
Every election I ask the kids, after sharing as much about the election as I can over a period of days, who do they think I will vote for. They always split half-half, with a few undecided.
That's the way it should be. I teach them to become adults, not robots.
Elsewhere, I share my experiences and views freely.
I'm a democrat. We fought for free speech. For everyone (no Fairness Doctrine!)

No, I am worse in everyday life, shoot from the belt...
However, I only express my views if asked for them, we were given two ears and one mouth, and should listen and talk on that ratio.

I talk more freely in person because when you're in person people don't usually call you names or assume they know you because of your politics and they are more open to having a real conversation.
I have discussions about politics with my students at work. They haven't been taught to think for themselves. They are lower SES and have been brainwashed to one viewpoint. But when I give them more information they are usually split down the middle as the number of kids who would associate themselves with democrats or republicans

No. In real life I deal with wounded people. I try to be kind and understanding so I can help them through their difficulties. When the situation warrants it, I can be very direct, but most of the time I just try to be kind.

No, only because I can talk a lot faster than I can type. I'm an open book when it comes to politics, both here and in person.

To my closest friends and family, I do. To coworkers and acquaintances, I try to refrain from it. People feel passionately about their political beliefs and bad feelings and misunderstandings can occur when you discuss these things with people you don't know very well.
