She looked pregnant in that awful bikini. It seems like she said to herself, "What is the single most unflattering thing I could possibly wear on national telivision?" and picked that. Her performance looked like a bad talent show.

Yeah I agree with the fact that she is a little chunky and that the outfit choice was not the most appropriate to somebody her size, however what impressed the most was the fact that she seemed a little static and a bit lost with the choreography... I mean she is britney spears and it seemed that she was a regular girl thrown out on stage... Sad to see a star fade that way. I just hope she "tivo"ed her performance.

I love Britney she is amazing! However her performance (or lack there of is was expected). She has not admitted defeat to alcohol or drugs and rather lived in a denial that can only lead down hill. How would anyone expect a come back (magical) when she has yet to work on her insides. She was bloated from booze, looked afraid(disoriented) like she was buzzed. She had a lack of coordination. When they dropped her back she couldn't get up. The camera was panned out as to not focus on her mistakes. I wonder why no one has addressed her healing on the inside. She is an amazing performer, but her career will not recover until she recovers from the disease of alcoholism

that had to be the worst vma opening performance they have ever had, and will ever had. worst vma performance ever for that matter.
She looked chubby. not saying im much smaller, but iw ouldn't prance around on stage with a hideous jeweled bra & panty set.
She lip sings every thing. She didnt move at all. she's a washup, and i can't wait to hear everyone rip on her bad performance tomorrow :)

The whole show was a catastrophe! The small clips of "suites" performances, the bogus awards, and the constant messing up by "professionals" Spears herself included...just made this whole two hours a waste..i couldn't bare to watch most of it.

wow!! poor Britney it was pretty sad to watch. I feel pretty sorry for her because i know the media is going to have a field day with this one. She really looked out of it like she was gonna fall over and trip at any second. This was so not a comeback. poor girl :(

It was so sad to watch, I feel awful for her and every other performance that she used to give she had like a sort of confidence and she danced her butt off. Even from the beginning she looked almost out of it and confused. She looked scared. I feel awful for her.

I was "slightly disappointed" in her performance in the way that it's "slightly warm" on the surface of the sun. This whole show is a screaming embarrassment. What's with all these made-up awards? "Quadruple threat of the Year?" WTF? They might as well give out the "Best at Being Kanye West" award.
