I got stuck once when I went to Disneyland, the ride was called Indiana Jones. It just stop all of a sudden right after we went down through a hole. We had to wait for like 10 min and I thought they were going to let us out of the ride and turn on all the lights but they didn't.

The old "Tidal Wave" at Marriott's Great America, Santa Clara during the testing phase. Stuck after going thru loop, but on way BACK, we didn't have momentum to go thru loop again.

The old "Demon" at Marriott's Great America, Santa Clara during the testing phase. Stuck at the top when a chain-cog failed and the brakes locked up.

I worked there as a Theater Technician (Stage Hand) from 1979-1985, and we often signed up as "test-riders". Watched them testing the "Tidal Wave" with sand-bags, and oooops, they launched the car off the END of the rail... it flew about 50 yards into the old "County Fair"

This past summer I was on Buzz Saw at Six Flags NE and we got hung up at the top. If you don't know the ride it's hard to explain. It was only 30 seconds or so, but I was really scared we where stuck for good.

Not for a long period of time, no.

I've always felt bad for the people who get stuck in loops. It's a rare event, but a bad one.
