I've noticed that among young people the Internet is used as a primary communications mechanism. It doesn't prevent interaction with other people. It's used to supplement those interactions.
It's also used to expand the circle of friends and keep in touch with people who live in other cites or states. Used to be if your best friend moved you were pen pals for a few months and then you would start drifting apart. Thanks to the Internet those relationships can go on strong for years with the exchange of e-mails, pictures, videos, and the updating of personal web sites. Kids know all about other cities and countries from personal messages they receive from friends.
The Internet is causing an expansion of human interaction in a really positive way.

To the contrary. The networking possibilities the internet opened can create a far more social world with people interacting with each other in many new ways.
Interacting does not mean to sit at the same table.
Many people find help through the internet.
They find understanding the may have never found before in this myriad of forums and counseling pages and so forth.
That is why the internet is so popular and revolutionary:
It is an easy new way of dialogue anyone is capable to take part in.
Nobody is an outsider anymore, everybody values.

Who should I be spending time with?
How I spend my time and who I spend time with is really a choice that I can make. The internet is just activity.
Reading is also an activity that avoids contact with other humans. We could suggest the same thing -- an end to reading so that people are with other people.

There is nothing better than human contact...sitting at your desk staring into a computer will never take the place of sitting by another person, looking into their eyes, sharing happy times and sad times together, interacting with one another...We are slowly becoming as the 'cave man', gradually spending more time in our caves away from any human contact...Yes, we should worry about it causing us to become less sociable.

Since worry is such a tremendous waste of time and energy why would you deliberately chose to do it? The only person you can control is yourself so if you feel you aren't spending enough time with real human beings then please make any changes you see fit - and enjoy your life. I wish you peace.

If people use the net/technology when they can be with there families and loved one, then in that case we should worry.
I have lots of info that I think you will find quite helpful and enlightening:
http://ecowellness.multiply.com/ for excellent inspirational info within my blog to help not only our world and its creatures, but to also open peoples hearts and minds to many amazing wonders that life has to offer. I also have lots of info in my blog to help fuel peoples imaginations to many possibilities that can be found only in the minds eye.
Along with lots of environmental info, amazing environmental pictures and videos (These videos show the beauty of this world and what life can be like if people take the time to appreciate life’s true beauty).
Let us all strive for a greener/brighter future by helping to create a solid foundation for future generations to build upon, so we can hand them a beautiful world, filled with never ending awe and wonders!!
Where peoples differences and uniqueness are accepted, where we all live as one, helping one another so that we can all play our own mysteriously beautiful melodies in the never ending, awe inspiring, song of life :-)
I truly have faith in humanity and believe that someday our lives and the world in which we live will truly be transformed for the better.
