have you asked your doctor about it recently?? That is the first place I would start. All babies develop at different paces. Did she reach her other milestones on time or delayed?
Talk to your ped. if you are concerned.

There are a few things to consider. Was your daughter a preemie? Sometimes preemies take a little longer on the milestone charts. Another thing - is she at least cruising (holding onto furniture and walking)? I would consult a doctor if she is still not cruising yet.
I've heard of plenty of babies that start walking long after their first birthdays have come and gone. My son started walking well at nine months, but my daughter is almost a year old and still isn't full-fledged walking. I think it depends on the timidity of the child in question, their overall build (I've seen babies that had problems walking because they were just chubbier), if they have a set-up they feel comfortable practicing in, etc.
My daughter doesn't like for you to hold her hands and try to make her walk either. We noticed that our furniture arrangement was much different with her than it was when her brother was a baby. Her brother used to practice walking between pieces of furniture in our living room and he caught on really quickly. Our daughter didn't have the practice course he did...so that may also be part of the reason she didn't start to walk until later. We just moved the furniture closer together and she's finally becoming more confident. Another friend of mine swears her daughter didn't start walking until she was 14 months old because they have hardwood floors and she didn't like falling on them.
And then some kids are just so happy crawling that they can't be bothered to walk. As long as the doctor rules out any medical reasons for her resistance to walking, then rest assured...you may just have a timid little one who is still working up the confidence to take those first steps.

18 months is the age limit when kids should be walking, so your daughter is okay there - and she might just do it all at one time but when I read that she isn't cruising that is a little concerning. I think some of the suggestions to not help her too much is a good idea but the best is talk to your pediatrician. A doctor would be able to assess her skills and her age and tell you what needs to happen next, your the mom and if you're worried maybe it's something - and even if it's nothing then you can let go of that worry.

Does she move her legs at all? Have you gotten a push toy for her? By 14 mos she should be at least holding on to furniture and walking. Just keep practicing with her and praise her when she tries. Talk with your Doctor about your concern as well. In fact, you should call your Pediatrician on Monday and tell them what you're concerned about so that they can get her some physical therapy. Babies sometimes need that extra help. My son is almost three and has speech delay, and when I was talking with the speech therapist, and applying for special needs preschool, I found out that they check all development areas such as, motor skills, cognitive skills, and speech...etc. I would call your Doctor, and also get the number for Early Intervention in your area so that they can start helping your little one. :-)

My son didn't walk til 16 months. It OK. Don't worry. My problem is that I carried him all the time. So stop carrying, if you are. If she doesn't walk after 16 months go to the doctor. 16 months is pretty much the limit of when they should be walking

My friends daughter didn't take her first step until she was 16 months but if you are worried you should see some one for some exercises to encourage her a bit more.

This is perfectly normal. Some kids just learn to walk later than others. It's not serious. But if u are concerned, you can get her a mobile walker. Let her sit in it for a while every day. That will get her to use her legs more.

My little cousin didn't walk. The doctor encouraged her parents to NOT make things easy for her.
She was often carried around, or put in her busy bee (what I call and exersaucer). The Doctor told them to stop carrying her so much. Instead of giving her toys, put them out of reach so she'd have to motivate herself to them.
Not to carry her but to insist she walk, by holding their hands.
She was walking in no time!

maybe something as simple as the floor is bothering her feet, or socks she can be wearing. try playing around and seeing. i know it sounds funny, but it could be something so small , but being moms we tend to over look the small things and seem to worry about the big things. best of luck!! all children do things at different times...
