around 4 to 6 months of age. but you should always check with your doctor just to be sure. and you always want to start them on rice cereal mixed with a little bit of formula. they either hate it or love it. and get your camera because some of the faces they make are priceless!! good luck!

I never gave my son baby cereal.

They don't need it, it's overprocessed crap.

Give your baby son regular "old fashioned" cook on the stove oatmeal. And wait until he's ready: You'll know he's ready when he's sitting up on his butt on the floor all by himself, and when he's able to pick food up with his thumb and pointer finger and cram it in his mouth, chew/gum it, and swallow it.

My son was 7 1/2 months old before he started solids, and he was BAM!! ready in one day, he sat up, started picking up food, and taking it out of my plate.

Oh I tried to give him baby cereal ONCE, ONE BITE, and he looked so horrified and offended that I never tried it again. I did taste it though, and I would rather eat a cardboard box or styrofoam cup than eat that stuff.

I was concerned about my babies and children being fat, as their dad and I were overweight. My doctor told me not to give them cereal until they were walking. It worked.
