I believe that the Daily Mirror kidnapped McCann, so as to keep people reading what they have the audacity to call a newspaper. Or Rupert Murdoch himself did, to keep people from reading too much about his buddy George Bush, in other peoples' newspapers (i.e The New York Times, The Guardian).
