Many people do, but since Hindus don't try to convert people like some other religious groups do, most conversions go under the radar.

I found a list of some famous people who have converted to Hinduism. It's pretty interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_converts_to_Hinduism

Hinduism lays emphasis on direct Experience of the Divine
rather than on authority.

Hinduism may not be called only as a religion in the sense other religions are known. It has no founder. It is much more than a religion. It is a total way of life.

It is among the oldest of the world's faiths. Even though there are numerous beliefs within Hinduism, they are all mostly based on the Vedas which is believed to have been revealed to the Sages & Seers by God and is the the oldest text still been used.It is also very much a living tradition.

You can call your self a Hindu if you follow the Hindu way of life and believe the Hindu texts...

These texts say that you can be a christian, muslim or any other religon but still can follow hinduism, because it says what ever religion you follow, if you follow it devotionally it leads to the Ultimate truth and reality called Brahman(God).

The most sacred of Hindu texts - The Vedas, the Brahmanas, the Aranyakas, and the Upanishads.

The Bagavad Gita rendered by Avatar of God, Sir Lord Krishna has the gist of these sacred texts.

So you can start with Gita if you have plans of following Hinduism.

One cannot "convert" into Hinduism because there is no conversion ceremony like there is in Islam and Christianity. If one wants to "become" Hindu the only way to be one is to simply practice it. Although many do not convert to Hinduism, there are many converts to Buddhism, which is very similar to Hinduism.

final time I checked, Hinduism even enables you to be athiest. Its rather forgiving as religions pass. i'm a huge fan of Hinduism. they have their wacky unsubstantiated techniques, yet they do no longer oftentimes care in case you have self assurance or no longer. Its considered extra as a philosophy of residing somewhat than supernatural concept, purely like Buddhism in user-friendly terms with some hypothetical Gods which you're no longer forced to have self assurance in as actuality. yet I confess, i'm nevertheless oftentimes blind to Hinduism.

If Hindus have been reincarnated... presumably for millions of years from the perspective of their text... surely by now they would be perfect... and yet they're not. There's a book I like to recommend called "The Genocide of Hindu Women" by Sita Argwal (she's a feminist and an atheist). That book alone would dissuade most people.
