You can get the money by any means you and the buyer agree to. E-bay is not involved in the process. The do OFFER an on-line payment service called Pay-Pal, but you are free to use whatever means you wish.

Several ways, in descending order of safety.

1. In person. I sent my mother the money, she met the seller in person, she verified the camcorder worked, then gave the seller a money order, then my mom shipped it to me. Most of us don't have that option. For things like motorcycles and autos, the buyer goes and meets the seller as the sale can be setup as "pending an inspection". But email the seller and work this out BEFORE bidding.

2. Via paypal. You register with paypal (instructions on their site). Takes about 3 to 5 days to complete. You can attach your credit card, or checking account to your paypal account. When you click "pay by paypal", it takes the money from your checking account and puts it in the seller's paypal related account. But the process or getting your money back when the seller defrauds you is not quick nor easy.

3. Via personal check or money order. You mail them a check. When it clears, they mail you the goods. Here you have little recourse if the seller skips or has false advertising.

You have to give the person your address to receive the money order, check or cash. Or you can sign up with www.paypal.com and link your paypal account with the ebay account. People can pay you through paypal using check cards, credit cards and checking accounts.
Good Luck!

most people go through paypal. You sign up and it goes into your account. They will transfer the money upon request to your bank account or master card. Or you can leave it there and use it to buy something on EBAY

First.. you need to be 18 to sell on ebay.

The person will either need to mail a money order or check to your house/residence (or you'll need to rent a PO Box) ... or you'll need to open up a PayPal account.

You need to be 18 for that too.
