First of all, you need to decide what the media pressure is trying to make you. I'd suggest that the media is serving large corporations who want you to buy their products at a big profit. It would be good if you:

- Judged your happiness by how much stuff you have. (materialism)

- Feel insecure and try to make yourself feel better by shopping.

- Judge yourself and others by your clothes and other physical belongings.

In contrast, you will not buy as much if you:

- are secure and spiritual.
- do not judge yourself and others by what you own.
- are taught to value quality over quantity.

I would think that avoiding TV, newspapers, and radio would be a positive thing to do. Spending time reading authors such as E.F. Schumacher (Small is Beautiful) or Ralph Waldo Emerson (Waldon Pond).

Stop watching Fox, CNN, HNN, CBS,NBC,ABC and watch, C-Span, FrespeechTV(,org), LinkTV(.org) and all the liberal progressive news you can get...At first you will be so depressed and angry then slowly you awake to thw fact this has been going ong for centuries and only now are people willing to give you another perspective and live to tell...who knows how we will live through the next presidency but at least you will have a bit og knowledge from people the "media" has swept under the table....the poor people of the 9th ward in NewOrleans...the welfare housinf that is being subverted to build golf courses and new expensive housing while the former occupants are scattered around the country away from relatives and friends....Eminent domain is the excuse for clearing anyone's home if someone wants it they pay less than insurance companies...or that after Katrina, every schoolteacher was fired and now charter(private) schools are replacing every school in NewOrleans, if you are poor, black and can't find a school to accept your children well too bad.... Also Try reading books likw Its the Crude Dude, any expose on the government that is changing all the programs enacted during the better days when Republicans were honorable and liberals were the Kennedies....now we have artifice for honor and well, was there any honesty in government anyway....look back to 1910 when Teedy Roosevelt was ready to take on corruption....FDA, anti monopoly acts and later Social security, and subsidized farming protected thre old, poor, and small farmers caught in the dustbowl hells of depression....As on very disappointed activist said recently These were the best of times and the worst of times when enough people were desparate that someone had to step up and create an honorable more honest government...and even that did very little for blacks, veterans and women so we continued into civil rights and GI bills,,,it really takes a majority to strike fear into the hearts
of politicians doesn't it....why do you think the president's men even pretend to make the decisions ours not theirs....think about that and plan to vote for someone who will do what he say's he/she will do then try to read between the lines..or read Harpers, the NewYorker,or go watch a movie like SICKOOO

Let's see. Do I want to use those in the media as role models in the first place? I don't think so. In the past few days I've witnessed one anchor call Sydney the capital of Australia, had another print reporter refer to John Howard as the President of Australia and another mis-spell the last name of Australia's Foreign Minister. Sorry. I've never been influenced by a group of people who apparently achieved a university education without ever having to take core curriculum requirements in science, history, geography or foreign studies. Especially not the news "stars" (the anchors) who belong to the same trade union as Jay Leno and David Letterman (the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists). Anyone involved in the operation of a TV station with a news department sees the reality every day. On the station's budget, the news people aren't listed as "staff". They are listed as "talent". The trouble is the only talent they have really acquired is how to read and write a press release. Even so, the reading function seems to elude them as witnessed by the endless supply of "bloopers".

Get capable for this considering that I am going to make use of data. Its a system now not simply utilized by the cons. international. The populace of India is a million billion; the populace in China is over 1000000000; the U.S. is at three hundred million and counting; Brazil is at 2 hundred million and counting. The nations I simply named have what we name rising economies that means that the common of residing is getting bigger yearly because of bigger wages and the presence of a core elegance. Guess what developing economies want? Fuel! Guess what occurs while you call for extra of whatever and cannot maintain up with provide? The rate is going up. Now the oil generating and refining nations do manage the provide of fuel and manage it as good, nevertheless oil is traded on a futures alternate that means its rate displays the rate one yr sooner or later. Lets now not disregard the subsidies that the U.S. gov't offers to fuel creation. If those subsidies didn't exist fuel might be extra high-priced within the U.S. than it's in Europe. Checkmate, Sorry excuse for a good proficient conservative.
