Actually any job is good at 16.

But there are a lot of different options, but most are fairly boring (projectionist at a Movie Theatre is one that drives many people insane, ok maybe you can watch Transformers 30 times, but what about Little Miss Sunshine or Blades of Glory?).

One way is to go to supermarket/department store chains. Just go to the personell office and ask for an application form (or maybe do it online). You will do a range of things, such as stacking boxes, working the register etc, but you are part of a larger business and have chances of real promotion later.

But maybe you want something interesting. I lived in a tourist hot spot, one of my friends worked on a tour boat spending all day staring at girls in bikinis (or guys in shorts...depening on your preference).

Often the best jobs are those with the best group of people. Working in a corner store could be horrible because you are buy yourself, but in a restaurant, with the right people it can be fun.

Think about sporting venues, tourist spots, jobs where you get time to relax (McDonald's will send you home if they don't have enough customers, which means you never get time to relax). Sporting venues are good if you are into that sport. Collect balls at a golf driving range, then in your breaks practice your swing.

Get creative, talk to people, ask around, look on local notice boards or local newspapers.

Often you have to start somewhere, after that your job options become better.

My first job was at a local (but nationally known) swimming pool store. Was awesome for first time experience, and they gave me a permit thing for school. There are a lot of choices.
