Would it even make an impact if I tried to live on that number and give the rest away to those in need?

it would be very close to zero and clearly not enought to live on.

B/c most of highly productive people who keep the average income high will stop working if you take away most of their earnings.

Moreover, since a lot of people will stop working, there will be way less stuff being made. So the world will basically starve.

Kinda like they do starve in Africa where no law or police mean you cannot keep what make, so nobody makes anything and all they do is live on handouts from the West.

You're free to do what you want with your own money though.

In 2005 about $7800 per person, probably a little more now because of inflation and growth.
