I doubt they will make sense in any language.

To those of you who critique Spanish speakers who don't speak English -- Jeff, bad_Andy, Debra H -- learn English! All of your postings are grammatically incorrect. As for those xenophobes with issues about Spanish being spoken in the United States, get a library card. This country has a Spanish speaking heritage and this fact is historically recorded pervasively. Having said this, there are some important differences in what would happen in an English language debate in any Latin American country: the candidates would almost all be able to speak a flawless English and they would not embody racist rhetoric about having to speak English. But then, look at the Americans who do settle abroad--I have met them everywhere, from Mexico to Morocco. 95% of these immigrants don't learn the language profitiently, if at all! They live in their segregated sections of the city, earning wages far above the nationals of their host country and often they still gripe about foreigners (ie. their hosts). And these American immigrants are not working 60 hour weeks at exploitative jobs.
Simply put, many of the posters here need to travel and read. Your concepts of Latinos (and probably most every non-white foregner) are racist and your lack of intellectual depth keeps you from seeing that these immigrants "accomodate" you, and not the inverse as you infer here. Without them, you would all be doing their jobs and thinking quite differently about class issues.

No, I won't watch. I think it's a disgrace to Americans for the politicians to be pandering to foreigners. Anyone who is American and eligible to vote should be able to speak English.

God point.. this is an ENGLISH speaking country.. or is supposed to be... if they cannot speak the language then they don't get to vote..I don't care which nationality it is.. AND if there are going to be debates in Spanish, then you are right.. there should be in all languages.

Both sides pander to the Hispanic vote because the population trend says they will be the majority in the US before too long. It's more a question of how far either side will go. some republicans apparently are willing to say, "No, we won't throw out you illegal friends", but democrats counter with "Not only will we not throw your friends out, we will give bigger welfare checks to both you and your illegal friends

I'm very but off by this considering you have to half-*** know English to become a citizen. It just goes to show you how afraid these politicians are of there own shadows.

lol, its amazing to me how Americans look down on the mexicans with so much hate. How do you hate them so much? They work the lowest jobs in the states and they continue to accept your abuse yet you resent them? how do you hate them when as the white majority you hold all the power? Also don't forget that most spanish people in the states aren't immigrants. They're either born in the states or the states stole their territory a long time ago through war. Who do you think owned Texas and California, and yet you have the nerve to call them immigrants? You're the immigrants in those lands yet u tell them what to do and get offended when they sing the anthem in spanish. Like it or not they are the largest group outside english speakers and here in canada we do everything in twos. Two national anthem, two debates. Maybe you should quit being so hard headed and learn to live your lives without hate or malice. What's it to you?

NO COMPRENDE--that means I do not understand. However, when it comes to Democratic politics, I still do not understand even if they lie in English, my native language. PS--now we should get protests from all the other languages that Democrats are UNFAIR to them

Turned off, of course. When this country bends over backwards to accomodate immigrants who don't know English, those immigrants will never bother to learn English. They don't feel like they have to.

NOPE! It's hard enough to this to them blather on in English. Of course, they might make more sense in Spanish - I don't speak Spanish!
BTW, I think it's insulting to broadcast it in anything but English!
