i got a leopard gecko the first couple days it let me handle him it didnt struggle was real calm. but these past couple days its been screeching and wiggling to get out a lot. just now it hissed at me when i tried to pick it up. and i used to have a leopard gecko a few years back and that one bit me and i almost had to get stitches so im a little afraid of getting bit.

Let it be for about a week. Everyone says 2 weeks you should wait until you hold it, but if you talk to it with a sweet, very soft voice and hold it after 1 week, it will trust you. just put your hand on the ground in front of it until it comes on to your hand and sniffs you.

for one thing are you exaggerating abit about the stitches? they dont bite that hard! their teeth are very tiny. Give it some tiem to settle in to its new home say a few weeks then just start again with the socializing

Just give it time to settle into its new home, maybe a couple of weeks. Then just gently put your hand in front of it and let him walk over it. Take your time, he's just scared.
