You can get one at your local post office, wal-mart, or some major grocery stores. There is usually a small fee. You tell the cashier in what amount it is to be made. You have to pay cash for a money order..no checks or credit/debit cards. Fill out the signature, address, etc. Put it in the mail like any other post. If you nedd help with how to fill it out, just ask them when you purchase.

As mentioned above, you can get them everywhere.

They are an order drawn on a financial institution, much like a check, payable to some third party. You mail them.

However, even though there is a thriving business for money orders, there shouldn't be. They cost many times what a single check costs. It isn't uncommon for them to be 9 times more expensive per order than it would cost to have a checking account. Some banks even give you the initial checks free.

People who use money orders, primarily use them as a form of self control. They know if they have to pay cash for the order, it cannot bounce. They do not trust themselves that they will keep good track of their account. Bounce fees are now around $40 per check.

Money orders are the best!!!. I get my at either the post office or Giant Eagle which is a food chain. And I usually do thia every two weeks. You go to the customer service. ( Have the amounts you need noted on a piece of paper and just hand it to the person and tell them I" I would like these in money odereds please." Have your total amount of money ready. (Food chainsare usually cheaper. I pay .59 cents. poat office charges 1.00) It will have PAY TO: (that who you are sending the money to or giving the money to. below it ill ask for a name. You put ypur name and address and zip. Tear the receipt off of the money order, mark it for what it was for . Put it in and envolpoe and save it...If it is lost in the mail you can call the phone number on the recipt to run a trace if needed. I like doing my bills with a money order. Ever since I closed out my checking I have saved over $500.00 per year...To many fees with Banks....Fine print will get you ever time...Hope this helped......
