Asking a girl out doesn't give you balls. If you think that is risky, you should really grow up.
Rejection is rejection, plain and simple.
No, don't ask them out. Don't waste their time.

You did great! (Note: Having big balls is more of a nuisance than a good thing, but I digress...) I'd say the ending was pretty good because you learned a lot about yourself in the process, learned you can stand up and do what needs to be done when the time's right, met a nice girl with whom you've established some dialogue (remember, boyfriends come and go quickly in the life of teenagers) AND got a reliable tip on another girl from a credible source. Not a bad day's return on one effort. Yeah, you got rejected, but as rejections go, this one was sweet! You have a lot to be proud of. Good job!

Well, you say she was very nice about saying 'no' and now is friendly to you so yes, it was a good way to be rejected. And you don't even have to look at it as rejection. She has a boyfriend.
If she has suggested that you date one of her friends and you know one of her friends, why not ask her if she thinks it would be a good idea with that particular friend? Maybe she can give you some insight into what her friend is like and a good way to approach her. I had a guy ask me about a friend of mine once and they have now been happily married for over 25 years.

It took a lot of GUTS (a much nicer term than "balls") to do what you did, and it ended up ok in the end. And if you follow through on the girl's recommendation, then you'll have a date to homecoming no matter what.

Yes, ask one of her friends. I think she was very nice in her rejecting you. She has a boyfriend and yet she recommended that you take one of her friends. That says she would go with you herself if she didn't have a boyfriend.

Go for it, whats the worst that can happen that she says no. You will never know till you try. Sitting back and letting every one else get what you want will get you know where in life. GOOD LUCK! :)

Yeah, it sounds like she thinks you actually have a chance with one of them, so go for it! If she didn't think so, she would've just said no, and not suggested her friends. =) Good luck.
