In the US, you can NEVER go to jail for owing money. You CAN go to jail for intentionally overdrawing you account. That is called fraud or theft. Depending on the amount, how often you overdraw, and how quickly you make good on the overdraft, the bank may or may not seek charges. An occasional small overdraft is considered normal in most cases. That is why they have preset overdraft fees.

depends,
If you accidentally got your account overdrawn and you have since corrected the problem, then no.

If you knew you were out of money in the bank, and you continued to write checks etc, then it is fraudulent, yes fraud, and you can go to jail.

most likely not, I guess it depends on the situation, but you bank will probably cut u off before it gets to that
