okay. so i'm on my highschool tennis team. unlike me, the team plays to win, not hit good strokes, so everyone's stroke is awful, but if gets the ball in the court. When i play someone, they always lob it back to me and i'll hit it as hard as i can and they will hit a huge high slow shot back over and over and eventually i make a mistake. In the short term, i know this is a good strategy to win, but in the long term i know good players will pound those lobs down. I also know these huge shots are good when used correctly, but definetly not every shot. My aim is to be pro (don't tell i can't be one. i know i can. i'm not trying to be full of it but i have confidence in myself) so i really want to learn how to just finish these high slow shots by hitting a fast winner. How do the pros do it? where does all that pace come from? how do they cruh the shot? should i hit at my opponet's feet? far away? so help please how do i crush those super slow high shots? thanks!

when at the net, try to execute an overhead smash, angling balls to the side. This way if your opponents DO return it(doubtful if you are a good tennis player), you angle the other way on the next volley or smash you get. If you are at the baseline, and your opponent lobs or moonballs with excessive topspin, hit low slice or cut shots to their backhand. When hitting to a lobber or moonballer your slice and cut shots deep, to pressure them into making mistakes. #1 rule against these opponents is be patient and return their shots. Never get mad at yourself. good luck

To prevent a person from lobbing you all the time, you need to move them around the court and make them work for every shot they get. DONT HIT IT RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE. this gives them the control and they may choose to lob you. If you do get in a situation where they are lobbing you, you could try lobbing back to them, or working on a high topspin well-placed winner. You can work on all these things in practice. Always remember placement before power. Hope this helps
Good Luck

That's hard because there are those players out there that are moonballers and pushers. If you are wanting to pound the ball and smash it you will lose. You have to be patient when playing pushers. There's no doubt about it. They are the most frustrating... If you can, hit an overhead. That's not always possible and if you rush the point you will probably hit it out or in the net. If the chance comes up, move in and cut it off and smack it at their feet... if not, you will have to play moonball right back! I know it's hard but sometimes it's the only option. Be patient!

I'm not a tennis expert but I do like to play. When I hit the slow high ones, they are in front of me....it's hard to explain on the computer. Kind of like when you're serving, when you toss the ball up you don't have it straight above you but a little in front of you. That way when you swing you're hitting it out in front and the ball will take an angle downward because it is already somewhat low. I hope this makes sense to you. Good luck with tennis. It's so much fun!

i play high school tennis too and lobes aggravate me as well. my strategy is to 1.) if close to the net, act like it is a serve and smash it because that is almost positive to be a winner or 2.) aim for the far outside corners or at their feet ( i recommend the corners unless they are in the no man zone though) good luck.

Going for the feet is a good strategy. Also if its a high enough lob, overhead smash works well.
