my little boy is 5months he grew fast he is a pig but he went through 3pack of newborn (120diapers), 4pack size 1 (120diapers), 3pack size 2(120diapers), and 2boxes and 1pack of size3 (272 diapers), and is now in size 4. For the first 3months he went a size a month in size 1 at 1month, 2 at 2months, 3 at 3months, and those lasted a little longer, so we only bought the smaller packs until the size 3s, we over bought on size 1s and only used 120, but already had opened all the others (i have a diaper shelf lol- im an organized freak) so the rest are in a bin in the shed now for baby number 2, I mean it's not like the go bad or anything. I personally prefer pampers or huggie supreme, all the others seem to leak too fast in my opinion but you will figure that out soon. Diaper wipes you can never have too many before my son was born we bought the boxes (parents choice-walmart brand- you wipe poo with them brand name doesn't matter in my opinion) with 5refill packs in each(total of 400wipes) and just 1 of the plastic containers so we can refill it (best way to go) and we bought 10boxes of those and since have bought another 8boxes or so, so stock up on those, clothes he will have more than he will wear, and will outgrow many before he ever wears them so don't worry much about that. Recieving blankets you can never really have too many- they are great- I have about 35 and still run out if I haven't had time to do laundry in a few days- and it'll happen. And a washable waterproof mat (like 2$ at walmart) is amazing, I have a few, just because making your way to the change table everytime to change a diaper is going to become a pain, just throw this on the floor and changeaway, if he poops or pees it goes straight in the wash. Definetly handy! Goodluck with your little boy, and labour, I hope it all goes smooth and well!

You will go through newborn and size 1 really quick. My daughter was in size 2 or 3 for a long time.

Why not consider a diaper service? Here is a link ck it out. I reckon our kids will grow up and ask us 'what did you do mommy to decrease your carbon foot print? What was your contribution?' Well, you can list diapering service as one of them. :)

Seriously, please ck out the website below. I am a Nursery nurse and have seen some mean diaper rashes caused by the plastic in the diaper. Every person I have talked to that uses the cloth diapers have loved it. With all this green movement it actually is becoming very trendy. It's cheaper over all. Lot of people don't go for it because they don't want to spend all the money up front but looks like you are already. Take the un-opened packs back and do what's right for your baby. Go get a diaper service. Please check out the link below.

My son grew so fast that I had extra diapers! He weighed 5 and 1/2 lbs at birth and wore newborn size for awhile. We went through 10-12 diapers a day, but he was exclusively breastfed and my milk went right through him! He's just almost four months now and is already in a size 3! He's tripled his birth weight. He averages 7 diapers a day now. Just hang on to receipts if you can just in case you overstock, you can exchange for the size you need. I also tried Pampers and Huggies brand and love Pampers Swaddlers. I found them softer against his skin. Huggies run a little bigger too just to let you know and I found them to be rougher on the skin than the Pampers Brand. Blessings to you and yours!!

This sounds like a good start. They go through size newborn really fast. Size 1 & 2 are used for pretty short times also. Size 3 are used for quite a long time.

Keep your receipts so you can exchange sizes. If you have some extra opened packs, please donate them to a good cause such as a women's shelter.

Don't buy anymore newborns, they don't stay that little long if at all. My youngest weighed 8 pounds and 10 ounces when he was born and started out in size 1's. I agree with someone else with they are in size 3 the longest.

I think you are good for now. That is a lot of diapers and they outgrow the newborn and size 1s pretty fast. You ought to think of doing a diaper subscription service if you are concerned. I have a subscription at Amazon.com for Huggies. I get a box every month delivered to my door and they don't charge tax or shipping. You can have them delivered more or less often as you need them and skip shipments if you still have a lot. I love it.

I wouldn't buy to many your baby may just be one size for a while. I bought a package of newborns and then my daughter was preemie and couldn't even fit into the preemie diapers. Just get the newborn size and see what happens.

I would caution you to not buy too many more. If the child can't tolerate one brand then you are stuck with them. My child could not use 2 out of three brands. If you worry about not having the money after the baby is born you could put the money on a safe store gift card or start a savings account for things that will be needed later. Good luck

I bought two Cases of each size and that has worked out perfect. If you buy too many then you may always return the unused portion to the store that you bought them from and they will swap them out for you. It helps a lot to have them there and waiting also you may want to get wipes as well. I don't know if where you are if they have a Sam's there but there's one in Houston and they have good prices on bulk items that you may purchase. Good luck!
