once you have had a serious injury to the knee it's going to take a great deal of time to heal. Get a second opinion from an orthopedic doctor to give you answers and peace of mind.

I ave had many injuries that have turned various joints on my body black and blue. Yes it hurts you have damaged the muscle and maybe the cartiage and tendons, this will take time to heal. it definately will not be better in just a week. When your body hurts it is trying to tell you to lay off and take it easy just take your time and follow your doctors instructions and I am sure you will be fine. Just a side note salty foods not good if retaining fluids and helps to lay off soda and no smoking if your a smoker restricts the blood flow that helps you heal

A bunch of things could be. You should see a specialist about it.

sounds like you might need an mri scan. that will look at the muscles and ligaments of your knee. it will show any abnormality there is..
