I used to leave mine on 24/7 1. It takes a few minutes to turn on 2. I was too lazy lol
But now I always shut down at night and put it on sleep if I'm gone for a while. I do this because:
1. A few mins. to boot is not much
2. To be eco-friendly, save money, save power
3. It is actually good for a computer much like sleep is for us, because when you let it have overnight to "rest" or be off it like reloads the drivers and stuff so it's good for the computer and will make it run better.
For the person that says it takes a long time to boot, it also takes a lot of power and if you clear the junk (unused programs, temp internet files, run disk cleanup, run disk de frag, add more memory if it is low,) and shut down every night it will run better.
So be earth friendly, save money and save power, shut that computer down each night!!!!

I never leave it on, because of the gremlins in the basement. They come up stairs while we're all asleep and mess with all of the electronics, the computer, the TV, the XBOX 360, all that stuff. So it's very important we shut all of that stuff of, and lock the basement door at night. LOL

I turned mine on today. I usually shut it off at night, but throughout the day I put it on stand by.

I turned mine on. And when I am going to be on for awhile but I have to get up for a sec, I put it on sleep.

Yes, I did turn it on today - I turn it off overnight. I really should turn it off soon.
