Sales tax on purchases:
= $22.98 * 0.06
= $1.38
Total purchases with sales tax:
= $22.98 + $1.38

If this is too hard, round up the numbers & subtract 2 cents.
(9 + 14)1.06 = 1.06*23 = 24.36 from $25 = 64 cents.
