I'm endlessly fascinated by the Republicans use of reverse psychology. Who's still alive? Who killed 3,000 Americans 6 years ago and lives to fight another day? Who exactly is impotent here?

harryd-you write a compelling argument and I appreciate honest, rational debate. I see your point but no one should forget that the way we were attacked before was by marginalizing him, I'd hate for us to repeat the same mistake.

We call this "trying to wipe the egg off your face." Bush did not completely halt the search for bin Laden, but depended upon the Pakistan Army, many of whom were bin Laden admirers. There is a tremendous amount of reward money offered for bin Laden, and still no one has revealed his whereabouts. Bin Laden is a folk hero, an idol, a mentor to his admirers, the young, very poor Islamics, many of whom have been taught in schools for boys where the Koran and Hate America are the only two subjects taught.

Saudi Arabia has promised to close those schools, but it is suspected this has not been done.

There is something strange about the lackadaisical approach Bush has displayed in his search for bin Laden, whom he said he wanted Dead or Alive. At Tora Bora, where bin Laden was definitely cornered, the Afghan troops were sent in, with very few American troops and with no air cover.

So, the Most Wanted Man in America escaped and hasn't been sighted since. Personally, I think that the friendship between the Bush family and the bin Laden family is the cause of this attitude. Perhaps Mama bin Laden pleaded for the life of her son. Perhaps it was feared there would be awkwardness in the Bush business arrangements with bin Laden.

This is just conjecture on my part, but there has to be some reason behind our failure to capture this man. In every other issue, like the Iraq War, Bush is pugnacious and stubborn. Where bin Laden is concerned, he shows an amazing resilience.

Impotent? I think he has gained a stature in Arabic lands that he never had before. Plus, he has an amazing and uncanny ability to pinpoint American problems in those infernal videos. Most irritating!

Jackie, what the President means is that Osama has been on the run for so long that he is no longer effective as a leader, and is therefore impotent to do anything more than run and hide. He may already be dead, as evidenced by the tape of a rather poor impersonater that came out a few days ago. Similarly, the insurgents are less effective than they were before the surge began, because the surge has them running and hiding also. They are still inflicting some damage to their fellow arabs, but not as much as if we had not chased them like the hyenas they are. We republicans don't use reverse psychology, we state plain, simple, easy to understand facts. Speaking of pop psychology, the only people that don't understand what the republicans are saying are those who are in chronic denial of the facts.

No, they at the instant are not taunting him. Bin weighted down, on account that 9/11, has been on the circulate & based on his massive community to maintain him secure & alive. very few hear from him different than for while this is desperate to place out yet another propaganda video like the single released final week & the handle this is meant to happen Tuesday (9/11). The administration's reaction is completed to remind the two the terrorists & the american human beings that Bin weighted down's message needs to be saved in context & no longer be spectacularly televised with a view to no longer supply him extra ability or administration.

If you were still looking for a guy like Laden, would you keep it a secret or pretend and say he is not important. The Media informs old Laden of our intentions, daily. They should act like he is not important, that way, he will stick his ugly head out and some American Troop may get the pleasure of solving the Bin Laden problem. As for as Bin Laden being "impotent" he has lots of kids, so he is not impotent.

The US wiped out the Taliban in Afganistan, took Bagdad in 6 weeks, has arrested thousands of terrorists worldwide (not to mention killing many multiple thousands of them in Iraq), there has not been another attack on US soil since 9-11, which goes against even the most wildly optimistic hopes, the surge is working (at least militarily, no matter what slidin' Biden says) - all this in spite of the Democrats and whacko lefties in the US and the stupid, ignorant, useless UN...

And there you sit comfortably in front of your computer and type garbage after listening to the latest from the mainstream news media.

I can tell you who's impotent, and not, and who's stupid.

Whether he dies or lives, is impotent or not, is irrelevant at this point, because Al Qaeda has transcended him. Still operating, still recruiting, still attacking, still planning further attacks in the Middle East and around the globe.

Maybe if we had blocked off his escape routes, we could have trapped him in Tora Bora. Maybe if we hadn't blown our recourses, focus, international support, and good-will on Iraq we could put some *real* pressure on Pakistan, where we think he's hiding (and regardless of whether he's there or not, certainly there is much terrorist training going on there).

But meh, so many mistakes have been made it's hard to point to one and say "There, that's where we went off course!"

Bin Loudmouth is dead and he murdered close to 3000 people on 9-11-01. Bush is alive and I'd say that Bin Loudmouth is the impotent one. He's been dead for the last 6 years. If you go by that fake OBL on that video, I can almost guarantee that it was some yahoo with makeup thicker than Tammy Fey Baker.

It's quite ridiculous what the Republican administration thinks of itself. They claim to be pro-family, yet give the rich the biggest tax cut. They reject pro-family laws in the fear that it will harm business, and they fight wars, because they think it will improve American business. Politicians do not run the American government - hypocrites do.
