One that doesn't smell bad to that particular person's body chemistry.
My mom's favorite perfume made her smell of cloying vomit.
My x boy friends cologne that smelled of pig urine in the bottle smelled incredible on his skin. Its called Polo and smells horrifically awful on most men.
I have favorites as long as they stay in the bottle or favorite smelling people because they found the right choice. Some people are clueless and smell of something horror show when you are trapped with them in a lift or elevator.
Opium smells good on me and so does Freesia, both have a mood altering smell. Opium for long classy backless gowns with flowing hair and high heals at night. Freezia during a nice beach day with a summer dress or jeans and a tank top to knock about.

My favorite fragrance to wear is Cool Water for Women, S.H.E. by Alfred Sung, or D&G Feminine.
I love Issey Miyake on a man! If a man has on Issey Miyake, I can smell him out of a crowd!! I love the smell so much I am going to buy my man a bottle!!

I can't find it anymore, but when I used to wear it, no matter where I'd go, someone would stop me to ask what made me smell so good.
Jovan Sex Appeal (there is also a Sex appeal for men). As for my favorite male fragrance, it's 211.

My favorite fragrance right now is Tatiana. I got it at WalMart. It's nice and light. For men, I'd say Pierre Cardin.

I like those little body sprays from Victoria's Secret, something fruity.
I also like the smell of Febreeze on laundry.
I like a man to wear after shave, but I don't know what kind since my husband doesn't use it.

I can't think of a perfume that would smell good on a woman or vice versa. That said, I love Musk by Jovan for men and have put some on myself. lol
