not always. it depends i guess. most times it takes a combination of both. but there are many exceptions to the rule; there are plenty of talented people that are ugly as poo, and there are plenty of beautiful people that don't have any kind of talent and wouldn't even if you gave them some for the holidays LOL. it depends. The movie industry (and TV) is a tough business... there are plenty of talented, gorgeous people that never make it at all, and they could more than well do the job (and this goes for all aspects of the business, not just acting). And some people.... find their way to stardom and aren't worth the paper the contract is printed on!
I dont know my friend, maybe its luck..........

Yes - because if you're attractive and reasonably talented, you can learn how to improve your performance - and still look good doing so in the meanwhile. This is the principle which allows daytime dramas to grow crops of really good actors and actresses that progressed into television, the theatre, and the film industry. To find many examples of this, check out the SoapNet program 'They Started On Soaps' to see who began their careers in daytime.

it's a toss up. sometimes you need a really good looking person for a part, sometimes a not so good looking. but then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder! keep in mind, they don't always need talent either, depends on how many takes a producer wants to do! i think name is actually more important than either option.~â¥~

From what I have seen lately I would have to say yes....every country music singer now looks like they were cut out of the same cookie cutter mold. Not one of them has a distinct singing voice. I see Actors and Actresses that I can't tell one from another.

let me ask you this. does Paris Hilton have amazing talent beyond this earth? there you go. :D
but still, that's kinda why she's famous. anybody in the biz these days have to either have the whole packedge or just the the good looking part.

Yep. Producers can teach how to act the movie as they go along, they can't teach looks.

Depends. You could get away with less talent if you have more looks, and vice versa...
