You wouldn't have to go as far as surgery to change it. There's voice coaches (like who help actors, etc) who can help you learn to speak differently. They can help with accents and just about anything you'd like to do to change it. Would be a lot cheaper to do it that way. Plus then you could change it back or to something different again if you ever wanted to.

I'm with teeby on this one. Some people take voice lessons to learn how to sound different or change their voice. Smoking does change the voice but also damages other organs of the body. And the first answer is a troll. Try getting info on vocal therapy or information from a vocal coach.

You don't need surgery to change the sound of your voice. If you want to change the sound of your voice, look into voice or vocal therapy. They can teach you to change the way your voice sounds.
Or if you have an accent that's causing the problem, look into speech therapy. A speech therapist can help you change the way you pronounce words. This is often how actors lose or pick up an accent for a particular part.

You sound differently yo other people than you do to yourself because you get vibrations from your voice transmitted to your ears. You need to listen to a recording to tell how you really sound .
Depending on your age your voice will get deeper pitch as you mature. You can learn to relax and drop the pitch of your voice as well. Some people speak in a higher voice than it should be because they are correcting to sound like they did when they were like 12 .
Speak to a speech therapist or voice and diction coach before you try surgery .

I work in the medical field and I have never see or heard of such a thing. There is far more risk of causing pain, irritation and loss of proper voice function that I would never do this even if it were available.
Find a voice coach, talk slower or work on relaxing your voice box muscles when you speak.

yes, but it is easier and less painful to go to a voice coach who can help you alter your voice some, in ways that won't be painful or harmful to your throat.
years of too much smoking and drinking will do it too, but i don't recommend that approach. A voice coach will not give you cancer.

probably. I propose, i've got by no potential seen that, yet i think of it is achievable. however the way your voice could be replaced in all likelihood does not have lots of a distinction. And it may desire to be existence-threatening. ~Misa-Misa

I think I've heard of this type of operation before, yes. Can't you research other ways to change your voice if you hate it THAT much, before you do something drastic like this?
