Are professional athletes paid at their full salary when they are injured during a game or practice?

Are they compensated if they are injured outside of their profession?

Yes but you can check with the NFL player's union. I don't think NFL player's are compensated for getting injured outside of the football related stuff. I don't think K. Winslow got payed when he wrecked his motorcycle a few years ago.

Yes they do get paid. All players get full pay for the length of their contract according to the Major League baseball rules. However, if a players is suspended for drugs or a team rules violation, they do not get paid. When a player is suspended for a dirty play, i.e. A pitcher throws at a batter intentionally, they may be suspended and not be paid. Many players sign a major league contract and are send down to a minor league for rehab or to improve their skill level. They still are paid according to their contract with the Major League Team. It's a very good deal but it is the same for all major team sports. Tennis and Golf players have to earn their money, if they do not place in the money, they are not paid.
