I believe that you know Lim (x --> ∞) (1 + 1/x)^x = e.
Therefore Lim (x --> ∞) (x/(x+1))^x
= Lim (x --> ∞) {[(x+1)/x]^(x)}^(-1)
= Lim (x --> ∞) [(1 + 1/x)^x]^(-1)
= 1/e
