I have a buddy who trades pictures of his 'part' to other people for their 'part'. He's 15. Is this considered child porn? I somewhat warned him about it but he insists there is nothing wrong w/ this. Help us out.

Thanks.

Yes, it is, and you should report this person so that he and those he trades with can be stopped from doing this and hurting innocent children - you don't know where they get those photos from!

It is illegal.

Adults are allowed to take pictures like this of other consenting adults, but there are restrictions on how the pictures may be distributed, to protect against children seeing them.

A child, even a teenager, is presumed to be too impature to make any decisions regarding sex, or sexual organs.

You need to report him.

If you do not report him, and the police later figure out that you knew about this, you could be arrested as an accessory to the crime.

You need to report him to the police.

It is a sex crime.

The law enforcement community, such as a juvenile court judge, many decide that the boy needs to spend some time in a mental institution.

It is illegal as he is under the so-called age of consent. See this Wikipedia entry for information on that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_consent.

I don't know if he knows the people he is "trading" with but he's navigating some very dangerous waters here. He could end up getting caught in something he's completely unprepared to deal with. There was a recent news program showing a boy about that age who was involved with something like this with a bad group and he almost got killed when he tried to get out of it. I recommend you speak to your parents about this and have them talk to his parents. He needs more help than you can offer him and even if he promises you that he'll stop, he could be lying. Good luck.

It doesn't matter if they are pics of himself, he is a child, and what he's doing is pornography. He is committing felony after felony! He's going to get caught up with someone who will abuse him, perhaps even worse. That will be on your head for not reporting this! But that's ok, say nothing, and then when something happens you will be guilty of enabling a felony, and you'll go to jail too. Enjoy your life.

Yes it ia illegal. The law says 15 year olds are not able to make that choice. It is considered child pornography even if it is his desire to do it.

My faith in the human race has once again taken a hit.

I could see this IM going back and forth about bartering over pictures of your genitals.

It's exhibitionism, and such a behavior is much likely to be unlawful if your friend shows those picture to too many people not really interested in.

It is child porn. The cops busted and convicted two teenagers in Florida who took pictures of themselves.

Yes that is illegal, and your buddy should watch out since those pictures could very easily end up in the hands of a pedophile. Please tell your friend to be careful.
