Is it common for the less-educated siblings or cousins to attempt to explicitly and publicly make the one-minute ill-fated
and rather unimpressive attempt at erroneously proving to you that they are smarter than you - therefore better than you?

It seems they try to justify their pathetic existence by convincing themselves that they too posses knowledge but did not
have to spend years or money acquiring same.

Those who have no education, please, go back into your rather simple world.

Thank you.

(P.S. I am and always have been a politically correct sensitive folk who respects the "other side".. Just that they have
crossed certain lines lately and I AM looking for revenge.)

I believe that you have explicitly, publicly, AND erroneously used every big word you knew to sound intelligent.

You're cool.

It doesn't take a GED or a PhD to see that this issue has more to do with you than it does anyone else. You've got some heavy duty defense mechanisms going on here. Take a deep breath and ask yourself why is it so important for you to prove that you are better than other people. Why are you in such fierce competition with this sibling or cousin who insulted you? Why does what he said to you matter so much that you'd attempt to garner support from an online community of people you don't even know? Why did his words hurt you so deeply?

You say you're looking for revenge, all you're really doing is trying to hurt him greater than how he hurt you. When you think about it, its really quite childish. Try to let it go and move on.

Quite frankly, I may be well educated, spent quite a bit of money on my education, however I would never, ever consider myself "better" than anyone - I have skills in areas others in my family don't, however, they posess skills in areas I lack.

For you to have the audacity to put yourself above everyone in your famly just due to your education, makes you the pathetic one. A well educated person realizes that revenge is futile - and would have the common sense to just let such things pass.

I woud hazard a guess that you are the only one who sees competition in conversation.

Had that problem with both my brother and my wife's brother. I finally sort of shut them up with the same put down. I hardly ever ever use profanity ( I save it for when someone runs into my car, or times when really appropriate.) Both brothers cuss all the time, every sentence. Both, on different occasions, asked me why I didn't. I told them, "Because I am educated, and have a larger vocabulary and don't need to use profanity to get my point across.
