I know a bunch of trolls'll answer this, but I'll go ahead.
Now, this might be becuase I haven't read much about it, but...
I heard part of Osama's latest releases, but it didn't sound like I expected it to. He sounded methodical and thoughtful, not like a fanatic. Now, I'm not Islamic, nor do I plan to be, and I'm a pacifist, but am I missing something. How can the same person be in charge of so much in his name? I'm not saying he's innocent, but he didn't have the death to america attitude.
And anyways, what does he truly want? I have a feeling he wants something (not material), but he's not saying it. Like he's trying to make us do something without our knowledge. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it does sound weirder the more I think about it.
Unfortunately, I will probably get a lot of giberish in this post. So if you're a giberish writer, please use moderation.

My main reason for this is that Osama seems to be an intelligent planner. So, I'm thinking he just wouldn't want a chat.

I really dont think it means anything more than a sort of in your face thing to the armed forces. I think the video is only there to show he is still alive and has some sort of "power" among his followers...nothing more than that.

Yeah, but it's an easy thing to miss.
Pacifists are so tolerant; it's hard for them to really connect with the concept that someone wants them dead for being different.
I feel like I'm warning Agent Starling before her chat with Hannibal Lector. "Never forget what he is"
But Osama makes the fictional psychopathic serial killer from 'Silence of the Lambs' look like a pacifist.
Osama killed over 3000 Americans, because he felt the boots of American GIs defending Saudi Arabia in the first Gulf War, had defiled sacred Muslim soil. His most fundamental disappointment in life currently, is that he hasn't been able to kill more Americans. Oh, yeah...he's also a pretty good public speaker.
In 1947 the UN partitioned Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab. After several wars, the Jews wound up with a piece of the Middle East about the size of Massachusetts, half of which is desert. Many Muslims consider this rather modest land grant to be a colossal slap in the face, and have been trying to fulfill Hitler's vision of Jewish genocide ever since. Americans also deserve to die for daring to side with the Jews.
Many Muslims have mellowed a bit, but many have not. One does not have to read much of the Quran to know Muhammad didn't really have a problem with killing Christians or Jews.
Here is a passage on the proper treatment of Christians, who have committed the heresy of polytheism; by saying Christ is god and part of Allah/Jehovah.
"And when the sacred months are passed, kill those who join other gods with God wherever ye shall find them; and seize them, besiege them, and lay wait for them with every kind of ambush; but if they convert, and observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way, for God is Gracious, Merciful. Sura (9:5)"
Understand that if Osama uses the word "Merciful" he means mercy for those who convert. Osama "wants" you to convert to Islam, and to avoid doing anything that remotely interferes with the spread of Islam…Unless you do this, he feels it's OK to kill you by any means possible.
Hope I've kept this gibberish free.

You may have hit the nail on the head, it all doesn't add up. Are we getting a tailored version of Osama from our governments or is it a cover-up. What are Osama's motives behind all these attacks. One thing for sure though, it all has to do with oil

Insanity and evil don't necessarily shout and scream. That's a convenient popular culture stereotype--but it's not the reality.
Keep in mind--the shake is the most silent , yet the mostdeadly, of killers.

I think they para-phrase and only report the main meaning of the tape incase there are hidden messages.
Actually I heard somewhere that they even thought that the black beard might have been a hidden message.

That you look for deep meaning in anything he has to say tells more of your story than anything else. He is an evil pimple on hell's sack and nothing he says or does matters to me anymore. He must die an ignoble death and be forgotten as soon as possible.

People generally aren't just fanatical without reasons. He wants to make a point about our culture and our interference with other countries. How did we make terrorists? We interfered with their countries. We killed their parents and families. We made it so the only education and protection they could get was from other terrorists. And then we equipted them with weapons to fight other countries we didn't like (Russia). We created terrorists. We need to stop.

I've always felt he was the face of a large organization, not the heart and soul of it.
Having said that, there really doesn't seem to be a goal. If there is, I'm missing it, too.
