its a new rule this year. any helmet with a microphone in it for someone to feed the plays to that player must have a green dot on it. this rule is meant to prevent teams from calling fake field goals on the fly. last year that happened a couple times where the holder on the field goal was told to pull up and throw or run at the last second because of something the coaches now saw. this gave them an "unfair advantage" in the eyes of the NFL.

When a helmet is wired it has to have a green dot on it. It is a new league rule that is in place for this year. Every helmet that is radio wired has to have a sticker.

It tells the officials who has a speaker in their helmet, which is always the QB. This year only one person on a team can be on the field with the green dot.

it is to signify that he has a speaker in his helmet and can receive plays from the coach. it is a new rule because some teams also have QB's who line up as receivers and should have different helmet on other than their QB helmet.

represents communication in the helmets, like a radio between the coach and player(generaly quaterback). only one can be on the feild at a time per team. this is new this year. they are that color green because no teams helmets has that color on them.
