They most definatly can!

I lost my 1st pregnancy from riding all the "fun" rides. I felt weird that night and miscarried a day after. I didn't know I was preg, but I was around 3 months. I didn't know because my periods were very irregular then.

Some do. It depends on the ride and how... wild it is I suppose.

When a pregnant woman goes to the fair she should always ask at each ride if it's safe for a pregnant woman to ride and they're usually really helpful and will be glad to honestly tell you whether it is or not.

Unless there was a problem with the pregnancy before hand, then I'd say there is little or no chance of a fair ride causing a miscarriage. I would think though that the likelihood of nausea would be higher. And if one were near term, the excitement may induce labor.
However if the fair ground operators are saying that you can't go on rides if they can see your pregnant its probably to cover their assets (insurance coverage), rather than a real risk.

It depends on the ride. The extra bouncing around can cause all sorts of problems & that is why they usually have signs that say not to ride the ride if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, or suffer from back/neck pain.

I would be very cautious, especially with the ones that turn upside down like the Ferris wheel. Why chance it? Is the thrill of the ride more important than the safety of the baby?

Cheaper, more fun then an abortion and no having to break the news to your parents.
