the a/c in my 97 ford tauras will blow cold then not so cold all summer it would frezze you to death. any ideas?? there are two in puts for the freon one in the front by the head lights and one by the fire wall which one do you add the freon too and should the motor be running? thanks for all the help!!!!

You should first determine if you have a leak. If you want to add 134A you can buy a kit at auto supply that comes with directions.

The one by the firewall is the low side. And yes, it wont take any freon unless the compressor is turning or you have a heated tank to charge it with. Always add to the low side or the can could burst in your face. You should see roughly 40 psi low and 250 psi high, and yes it is money well spent to get a set of gauges.

if you are adding freon, then yes the motor needs to be running, and the a/c need to be on high (full blast). as for which connection, i'm not exactly sure (i think it's the low side, but can't remember). however, the connection will only fit on one (they are different sizes), between the high side and low side. if your not sure, you might want to have someone to do it for you, as you can mess up your a/c system by overcharging it. g/l, sos

that ford has gone farther than the ford turn to junk point. run it off a cliff.it'll be more cost effective that way.
