Yes. But you can exhibit traits (physical , psychological and mental) that come from a generation or more before your parents generation. Lots of eggs and thousands of sperm carry diffferent permutations of genes.

You make a very good point. Some people think that organic parts stop at the heart and lungs. Those are organs, but the brain is something special. I say nope to that. The brain is a organ that is subject to malfunction like any other organ. And if we inherit body tyes, skin types, hair, health issues from our parents, we can certainly inherit something cerebral.
But jsut like any other organ, our rain is also subject to what we do with it and how we nurture it. You can have a healthy set of lungs and ruin them by smoking or a history of no cancer and ruin it with a bad diet. You can also make a genetically unhealthy body and make it better than your family's. In the same way you can change your personality, intelligence, but it would take alot of work.

I dont know about intelligence, but people's personality can be similar, especially when it comes to a parent and child. Not the mind no, everyone thinks differently.

Aside from inherited propensities to manufacture neurotransmitters in certain proportions, and barring an inherited pathology, our minds are largely shaped by environment or the context in which they find themselves.

I dont think our minds are genetic, but are controlled/shaped completely by our environment. However, in almost every case the we spend most of our childhood with our parents, so they ARE our environment during our most important developmental stages, which is why we are so alike to them.

yes our minds are also heredity. We do get intellect and personality genes from our parents. Although the environment that we grow up in also plays a part

I believe in nature & nurture, so I somewhat believe we inherit the way we act from our parents, and the way we are raised shapes us too...
