Bruce J, I'd honestly have to be incapable of thought to not see that justice is lacking in thes two rulings.

Ya maybe because the jails are full and they haven't built another one yet. I'm wondering when Bush is going to be tried for treason.

It has taken an INDEFINITE leave of absence. Judges these days have no idea what the word "justice" even means. I was doing research the other day for a debate topic in Speech and Debate, and Black's Law Dictionary, which is SUPPOSED to be very reliable, has the meaning of justice reduced to "legally right, lawful". How messed up is that?! Since when does human law define justice?

anybody is in charge for Justice. no longer gods. If there's a incorrect, then that's as much as society to concentration on it. in keeping with faith is the astounding, apathetic reaction. additionally take into concerns that once you're going by a bible, you're able to try analyzing that e book somewhat extra heavily. That e book helps slavery, the appropriate to kill disobedient babies, different halves, has outrageous discrimination of girls, and lots extra issues that a mundane, reason based society shuns. If a god existed (which i've got not got self assurance for a 2nd) that certainly although that the bible could be observed to the letter, that god could be a terrible monster. The bible, and 'god' have been created by adult adult males. that's our accountability to magnificent wrongs. Blind faith in magical beings is a risky street to shuttle.

Why am I not surprised that someone just had to go there with the whole Michael Vick and race bs?

Michael Vick's situation has nothing to do with race and everything to do with the fact that he committed crimes and new that he was committing crimes. People are just making excuses for Vick. He knew dogfighting is illegal. If you're stupid enough to risk a multi million dollar contract, you're freedom, and millions of dollars in endorsements then you deserve the consequences regardless of your race.

There are more white dogfighters in jail than black dogfighters. This whole thing just got a lot of media attention because Vick is a pro football player. "The man" would rather target poor people who can't afford a decent defense, especially since poor people aren't the ones who are paying uncle sam millions of dollars.

People need to be responsible and stop making excuses for being involved in criminal activities.

Regarding the Jena 6, yes, this is injustice at work. What's unjust isn't that they're in a pile of poop, it's that white students who were also involved in beatings aren't in that same pile of poop. This is surely a case of racism in my humble opinion. And it's such cases as this that we need to be focusing on, not cases like Vick's that don't involve racism in any way. But we have to be fair if we are to demand fairness. We shouldn't demand that the Jena 6 get off. We should demand that the white students who also engaged in physical assaults be charged and prosecuted accordingly. And we should also demand that there be no more use of the words "hate crime" and that they no longer apply in the law, because we should not have laws for feelings or motives.

As for white people who get off, get slaps on the wrist, or don't get charged at all, well, this happens to people of every race in this country. For every case one person brings up about a white person, someone else can mention a case involving the same circumstances about a black person. Sooner or later, yes, someone is bound to eventually run out of cases to mention, but that's not necessarily because of racism. The fact is that there will always be a racial imbalance because of the simple fact that race doesn't determine what people do. So there obviously can't be an equal ratio of blacks:whites receiving any given punishment. Surely racism does exist in the justice system, but we can't fight it. We can't consider race or make laws for race, otherwise we are no different that the racists in the justice system. What we have to fight is corruption itself.

Now, to answer the question, I think justice took a leave of absense a long time ago. And it isn't going to return as long as people refuse to stand and fight.

I agree. Fortunately in most cases the law does hold murdering parents accountable, but the ruling in other cases, such as Andrea Yates, I find appalling. Parents routinely leave kids locked in cars; happens every summer. And more oftne than not the parent says he/;she forgot the child was in the car!
So yes, I feel the judges make grossly unfair rulings. It seems that sometimes the law finds children to be expendable.

Justice has always been a step behind the overall common sense of the American people. When politicians stop selecting cronies and largest contributors to posts solely for political reasons, we can only expect judgments to come out as tainted as their character.

It sure seems like it has. But we are not the defence lawyers, the judges nor the juries in those cases. If they have done wrong in their judgements, they will have to answer to a higher authority more than once before they leave this earth, you can be sure of that. Both the offenders and those who allow them to walk free after the atrocities they have committed. Remember, that's why we put our trust in G-d to be the ultimate judge.

Unless you sat in the courtroom, you really can't make a call on this one way or the other. You are simply repeating what you hear. To think that the media gives all the facts is just as insane as thinking that justice is blind.

I'm not saying that you are wrong. I'm just saying that, if you are right, it's by sheer blind luck, not an unbiased judgment based on the facts.

My kids are on my mind 24-7. I always think about them, pray for them, check up on them, call them, doing everything for their benefit, health, safety and eternal destiny.
To leave a child in a hot car is selfish, careless and shows that the destination or situation at hand is first on the list. Anyone who makes this choice should face justice. No excuses.
If you drive without a license, you risk jail. If you kill your kid, your excused? Please. It shows she has money.

My opinion is that justice has been taking leaves of absence in this country since its birth.
