Okay, so at Church today, I introduced my friend to my other friends Mom, and she's like, "Oh, you're so pretty, you look like a China doll," to my friend, and we're like what does that mean? Is that a compliment? Thanks♥

LOL...haven't heard that one in a while. It means that she looks perfect like flawless as a porcelain doll. Smooth skin , bright eyes, shiny hair like a doll.

China Doll is what is known as a "back-handed compliment", lovely to look at, but not to be touched.
The original China Dolls are indeed beautiful, but are very fragile.

I'm guessing that's a compliment in reference to the China dolls that were something of a trend some years past.
Back then the impression of things Chinese was of elegance, beauty and mystique. (not cheap manufactured goods).
However it can be offensive, it can be stereotypical as saying someone looks foreign (Non Americanized) or as a sarcastic insult.
Although I think your friend's mom didn't mean it as an insult it can be an ignorant thing to say and you shouldn't make a habit of saying it. It's like making tacos for mexican house guests it can be with the best intentions but can make you seem awfully ignorant. Hope that helps

If you are asian...maybe you should take it as a compliment..... a "doll" is always a compliment..... that means that you are a pretty woman...

It's meant as a complement - that her appearance is so perfect, clear skin, neat hair, etc. But if the lady didn't bother treating your friend as an individual person, it is an ethnic stereotype.
