You insensitive clot, They invited you to dinner and you criticized his wife's cooking, but that didn't stop you from taking

After that you wrested control of the remote and made them watch the most boring television programs in the history of
broadcasting.When they were hinting broadly it was about time
to leave you remained utterly oblivious of that fact.
Helping yourself freely to the contents of his cherished drinking cabinet with its collection of rare single malts,
and some exquisite cognacs wasn't endearing either.
In desperation they feigned death, hoping you'd sense a certain awkwardness.........and you did! after a good 2 hours.
But when you said " This was a lovely evening, we must do this again next week " , he snapped.

It can mean any number of things. A couple that I reserve the knife maneuver for are:

1) Quit doing "X" behavior- it ain't *that* kind of a party.

2) Your name wouldn't be on my "A List" on your best day.
