Assuming it's an automatic

1. Remove the torque converter from the trany

2. Hold it up to the ring gear & make sure it lines up with the mounting bolts & slides into the back of the crankshaft. If the engine previously as a standard then the pilot bearing must be removed.

3. Make sure the trany is the same bolt pattern as the one you took out.

4. Install the torque converter in the trany. Turn it so it slides into the pump. The torque converter should sit about ½" in from the trany mounting flange.

5. Install the trany, then align the torque converter & tighten to the ring gear.

what kind of trouble? automatic or manual shift?
