While I don't think the term policing should enatil threatening or invading, I think that America acts like the police of the world, because we are forced too, because we have the means and other countries look to us to step in.

America acts like the policeman of the world because of what Teddy Roosevelt did when he was president- rule with an iron fist and a soft heart. He also issued the Roosevelt Corollary which basically stated that if we see a country as threatening the freedom of another, we have the right to step in and moderate what is happening.

We don't. I know it appears that way sometimes. But we don't unless it has something to do with interest we hold in that area and they are threatened. We've always been the one who took it on the chin before we reacted. While I don't necessarily agree with the governments decisions, it has provided protection when we needed it. Remember the last country to attacked us? And what happened to them?

Profit. It may cost money for the public, but Arms Dealers have a field day with wars. High ranking political figures are making millions from wars due to their contracts with the Arms Dealers.

It's all about profit, really. There's no morality in politics, there never has been.

I don't know how old you are, but I would guess 18 or so.

Most countries look to the US for help. South Vietnam begged for us to come and help them stave off the Communist Viet Cong, and though we didn't succeed, we ran over and helped.

As a people, generally, Americans are generous. We know that we are blessed to be in the greatest country in the world, and want to share some of the bounty. Just walk into any grocery store and look at the produce section. 90% of the world would faint if they saw what we take for granted as available any day of the week.

We are the country that has to put up walls and has years' worth of people waiting to come here and become citizens.

Russia has walls keeping her people IN.

Because its the right thing to do. we don't go to other countries imposing our government on them. we don't take them over. we are not a conquering nation. we are a big brother. Our government and the way we live as a nation is the oldest in the world. it is our responsibility to help and guide our fellow man. and yes England has been a monarchy for Hundreds of years but their government that they have established at this point in time is very young.

Because the rest of the Cowardly World expects us to.

You are either a Foreigner or a Little Kid, but watch the Movie: "Team America--- World Police".
That will explain it to you.

Well according to political science, as a superpower it is our international duty to help countries in need and restrain ones that pose a threat to others. Of course this can be interpreted many different ways and is often distorted with our administration's personal agenda.

somebody's got to be the equalizer. Why not the U.S.? We have every nationality right here, and we know how to live together in peace and harmony, or at least we do it better than any other country.
