6 INCHES/2 1/2 YEARS = 2.4 INCHES PER YEAR

20 DOLLARS / 5 BOOKS = 4 DOLLARS PER BOOK

THE BETTER BUY WOULD BE THE SERIES

1)

make it a ratio!

inches years
6 2.5
? 1

then, im sure you know how to do this...cross mltiply and divide? so you would get 6 / 2.5 which is 2.4, so your average rate of growth is 2.4 inches a year!!!!!!!

2) you have 5 books. one costs $4.75 and all of them cost $20.

4.75 * 5 = $23.50 for five books individually
or $20 / 5 = $4 for one book of the series.

which is a better deal then? well the one where you get all of them for $20 or $4 dollas each, of course! Cheaper by 75 cents per book!

First, i'm assuming that x2 ability x^2 (or x with an exponent of two) a million) (x2 - 3y)/5 + x -4y3 PEMDAS: Parenthesis: (x2 - 3y), so x squared then subtract 3y... x squared is a million. 3y is -6. a million - -6 could be 7. we've 7/5 + x -4y3. First paintings with 4y3. y cubed is -8. Multiply this via 4. Now you have -32. 7/5 + x - -32 7/5 + -a million + 32 a million.4 - a million + 32 = 32.4 It seems such as you obtain it large, in simple terms someplace mixed up your negatives! 2) i could in simple terms clarify it step-via-step: 3x - 7 = 26 +7 +7 3x = 34 (extra 7 to the two factors) /3 /3 x = 34/3 (divided via 3 on the two factors) x = 11.3333 verify: does thrice 34/3... - 7 finally end up equaling 26? sure! 3). a million x is in each and every, so which you will take that out. additionally, we see that the coefficients (the numbers) are all divisible via 4, so which you will take that out as properly: 4x (x2 - 6x + 8), considering the fact that 4x situations x2 is 4x^3, and you are going to be able to verify the different 2 areas of the polynomial.

First question: try writing this as an equation.
2.5(number of years you have)=6/x(growth per year in inches)
That turns into x=6/2.5

Second question: equation again
20(whole series)=5(number of books)*x(price)
And that turns into 20/5=x
Then you see which value is bigger - x, or the price per book if you buy the whole series, or 4.75

I hope this helps ^^

average growth per year=6/2.5=2.40inches

cost of each book if you buy the whole series=20/5=4

so buying the series is cheaper than going for singles @4.75 each

6 divided by 2 1/2 = 2.4 average growth per year

20 divided by 5 = 4 each book in the pack
so it is better to buy the pack than each one individualy

You're being lazy not to figure this yourself.
You could at least ask 2 separate questions.
We need the extra points for our efforts.
1) 6 / 2.5 = 2.4 inches
2) 20 / 5 = 4

Are you kidding me?

average growth is .2 inches per year.

Better buy is $4.75 per book.

the 20$ set is the better buy because that'll mean that each book is 4$ and not 4.75$.

im not sure on the first.
