I just had an off the wall thought on space. If space is simply nothingness then how can anything be there? Could space be made up of subatomic particles, possibly smaller than dark matter? Maybe these subatomic particles are the medium that electromagnetic radiation uses to travel from one point to another.
this was just something that kind of popped in to my head. Tell me what you think?

I've thought about this before and near drove me mad. SO I came to the following conclusion:

A noun is a person, place thing, or IDEA. So space is an IDEA, not a real thing, because if it was then it would be something there and since nothing is there it wouldn't exist unless it was simply an IDEA. It stopped me from going crazy, so I stuck with it. I probably sound like a nut case.

Space is nothing, it's just reality, it's not a particle or particles, because they can be measured... Space has no beginning or end. In reality electromagnetic radiation doesn't wave, it spirals, every spirals in one way or another... Imagine drilling wood and the chips come to you, Imagine gravity radiation drilling its way through matter, pulling matter towards each other... Empty space solidifies spiritual energy to create water, dirt, wind and metal, etc,... The spiritual world had these materials first, as well as everything else... Evolution is only real on the small scale... A thought is the smallest particle, but it is more powerful than anything. Static electricity pulls everything, I think it may be gravity...by by.

Outer space beyond earth's atmosphere and beyond the planets is not a perfect vacuum. There is a very small amount of hydrogen gas in space. Dark matter also exists in the apparent emptiness of space. Yes, all of the above makes up the composition of the fluid light travels through. The density and gravity of all but black wholes is large enough to change the direction or refract the traveling light.

actual space is really the area the all of the matter fits into, think of space as something separate from matter. now the space that everyone thinks of, anything outside earth, isnt quite a perfect vaccum, theres a few hydrogen atoms and other light elements out there just floating. and theres also dark matter, which isnt proven, but were pretty sure its there.

The idea that space is a thing and not just a collection of possible locations, like in Star Trek where they always talk about the fabric of space. I never really consider those ideas. They just seem intuitively wrong to me.

Space is just empty space, there is nothing there. They haven't even detected dark matter yet, it is just a theory, seeing as it does not emit or reflect enough electromagnetic radiation to be observed directly.

With all due respect...I think that you had to much spicy food for lunch or diner and that produced weird or bad thoughts in your sleep. What you propose is not possible.

Well,we know at least that there is an idea in your head, not just empty space.

those sudden blasts of 'wonder if' have led to other great thoughts.... it's something to continue to explore, isn't it?... take it thru it's paces until YOU reach a conclusion....
