The Canadian flag is red and white, not red white and black. It made more sense when they wore blue hockey pants since Quebec's flag is mostly blue. It would be really lame if the useage of black was only for its "trendyness".

No idea. Think the trendy thing came in to play. Black jersey's are a big seller for many clubs. Why would we want to specifically want to have Quebec represented on the uniforms? They don't like Canada anyways, so why pander to them.

Hockey Canada's official colours are black and red, and have been since 1981.

They don't.... only the odd jersey such as the one seen the other day in the Summit Series. Most times, you'll find the Team Canada jerseys to be red and white.

They don't feature black as a main colour. Thats just their third jersey, which they only wear occasionally.
