USDA = United States Department of Agriculture, I don't think they are in the mortgage business.

You are thinking of an FHA mortgage. And you don't go to the FHA to get it.

Private mortgage lenders like GMAC and your local banks, may, or may not do FHA loans.

it's a mortgage, not milk - I never heard of a USDA mortgage. there is nothing you can do to speed up a mortgage process - there are several independent people doing different things - title search, inspections, credit research, etc. It takes as long as it takes

Realistically you can't speed up the process of getting any kind of mortgage loan. It takes what it takes.
