If you are doing an equalization draft (forward in even rounds, backwards in odd rounds) it is irrelevant. My pool has been won from almost all positions.

However, from a participation standpoint, I prefer the middle, otherwise I am waiting too long between picks and drink too much beer!

It all depends on how many teams are in the League.

4 teams = 1st
6 teams = middle or near the end.
8 teams = middle
12 teams = middle
13+ teams = anywhere but the top 3.

Pretty much every draft spot has they're own pros and cons. unless its a 4 team draft, then you deffinantly want 1st pick.

If it's a large league, I like picking in the middle of the draft. I hate picking first or last because you get those two picks and then nothing for a long time, and that gets very boring.

I've only done two fantasy teams, but I like being in the early middle. You can still get a good player in the first round, and balance things out later on with above-average players.

I prefer either of the poles, it allows you to pick back to back and you are more able to select the positions you need rather than simply best player left. Being in the middle allows for too many things to go wrong between your picks.

Every spot has something going for it, generally I want to be in either the top 4 or the bottom 2.

I definitely want to get the first pick but I would prefer to be in the middle. The ends just get screwed either way.

Well, if I were first or second, I'd go with Brodeur or Luongo... if I couldn't get either of those... I might as well be middle or last in the order...

Beginning! The person with the first pick in our pool has generally chosen a top skater, such as Crosby or a great golaie, such as Brodeur....then they went on to win the pool.
