This morning I had a little swollen area on my hand. Later I noticed it was red and the line went to my wrist. Hours later it's halfway up my arm. It is a little sore and itches at times. What is it and should I see a doctor?

I went to the doctor and she was puzzled as to why I had a red line. A red line does mean infection. But I did not have any cuts, puncture wounds or even a bug bite. I never ran fever and the line was faded the next day. She did give me anitbotics and told me to call if it gets worse. Thank you all for your comments, just wanted to let you know what happened.

it could be an infection, it could be an allergy of some sort, it could be an insect has bitten you. I suggest you do see a doctor as soon as possible to find out what is wrong before it turns into an emergency situation.
