i dont want to wait for it to outgrow it so can i paint it know? With what kind of paint?

You should be able to paint the crab's shell right now. It is not a part of the living organism but something they pick up for shelter. I don't think it would hurt them, just don't get the paint inside the shell. Make sure it is a quick drying paint.

NO! Painted shells are bad for hermit crabs in the first place!

don't know why but this question makes me laugh. all crabs outgrow their shells and need new ones, I think.

might not be good for the crab.

maybe use like natural stains? blueberries, strawberries, that kind of thing?
